The Empyrean
The Empyrean was released worldwide on January 20th 2009. Frusciante does not plan on a following tour, as he instead wants to focus on writing and recording. The Empyrean peaked at number 151 on the US Billboard 200 as well as number seven on the Top Heatseekers. On release it made number 105 on the UK Albums Chart.

Curtains
Curtains was released on February 1, 2005. It was the last record of a six album series Frusciante released, within the span of six months. The album was mainly composed of acoustic guitar, in contrast to his previous collaboration with Josh Klinghoffer, A Sphere in the Heart of Silence, which was mostly electronic.

A Sphere in the Heart of Silence
A Sphere in the Heart of Silence is the fifth album in a series of six solo efforts that John Frusciante undertook from June 2004 to February 2005. It is an album composed mainly of electronica-based material, and was a joint collaboration between John Frusciante and friend Josh Klinghoffer.

Inside of Emptiness
Inside of Emptiness was released from June 2004 to February 2005. It features Josh Klinghoffer and Omar Rodriguez-Lopez as guest musicians. The album genre is based around rock, with synthesizers playing only a minor role throughout. Klinghoffer plays percussion.

Shadows Collide with People
Shadows Collide with People was released on February 24th 2004. The album was written during the recording of By the Way and is widely regarded as his most accessible work, featuring a mix of guitar-driven alternative rock, folk ballads, and electronica. Frusciante has stated that this was his most expensive album to date, costing around $150,000 to produce.

To Record Only Water for Ten Days
To Record Only Water for Ten Days was released in 2001. Unlike his previous two solo albums, Niandra Lades and Usually Just a T-Shirt and Smile from the Streets You Hold, the record differs significantly in that Frusciante explores elements of electronica, synthpop and New Wave.

From the Sounds Inside
From the Sounds Inside was released exclusively through the internet in 2001 by John Frusciante. The album was free to download from his official website and includes material recorded during the To Record Only Water for Ten Days era of his solo career, most of which remained unmixed or unfinished. The album was named by fans through a contest in 2001.

Niandra Lades and Usually Just a T-Shirt was released on March 8th 1994. Frusciante released the album after encouragement from several friends, who told him that there was "no good music around anymore". The album combines avant-garde and stream-of-consciousness styles.
