The Heart Is A Drum Machine features a 25 minute long, uncut interview with the now departed Red Hot Chili Peppers guitarist - John Frusciante. It's available for pre-order on Amazon and will be released on March 9, 2010.
The documentary poses the question - What is music? and many of today's top artists and scholars grapple with the question in this cinematic look at a uniquely human obsession. The Heart is a Drum Machine is a new feature documentary film project from the producers of Moog.

Following his emancipation from the Red Hot Chilli Peppers, guitar virtuoso John Frusciante has already found an interesting project to dip his calloused fingers into. Namely, he'll be joining forces with a variety of musicians for a David Bowie tribute album that doubles as a benefit for the War Child charity. John Frusciante has left Red Hot Chili Peppers, says source
It would appear that John Frusciante is no longer working with the Red Hot Chili Peppers - so says a source close to the band in an exclusive interview with MusicRadar.
"Josh Klinghoffer has been playing with the group for a couple of months now," says the source. "Optimistically, the Peppers are trying to lock down a replacement for John, who has apparently quit
"Mentally, John checked out a long time ago. He's interested in doing his own thing, his own albums - the whole big rock band machinery just doesn't appeal to him anymore."

Credible websites buzzbands.la and buddyhead.com continue the rumours that John Frusciante has left the Red Hot Chili Peppers and Josh Klinghoffer has taken his place as lead guitarist.

I hear the Red Hot Chili Peppers are writing music for a 10th album, but without John Frusciante. Guitarist Josh Klinghoffer, who toured with the Peppers as a second axeman (and who also has played with Gnarls Barkley, Beck and PJ Harvey), is involved.
